The planning application that, if approved, will see Grimsargh Wetlands handed over to Grimsargh Parish Council has now been submitted - reference number 06/2016/0234.
The proposal is part of a scheme that would include a small development of 12 houses fronting Preston Road, with part of the proceeds forming a significant dowry to support immediate essential maintenance and ongoing upkeep of the site.
As you will recall, there were public consultations last year, which showed a large groundswell of support for the project among residents.
If you are keen to ensure the future of the Wetlands is secure, we appeal to you to show your support for the application, by contacting Preston City Council by 20th April in one of the following three ways:
- Writing: To Planning Department, Preston City Council, Town Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL - quoting the application reference number
- By email: devcon@preston.gov.uk - quoting the application reference number
- Online - on the City Council's website.
We are delivering fliers around all Grimargh - a copy of which is available here to download - please feel free to share with others you know, who might wish to support this project.
If you are not already following it, we strongly recommend the Grimsargh Wetlands Facebook Page - there you'll see a wealth of stunning photographs of the plethora of flora and fauna that tell the tale beautifully of why this project is so important. Many thanks to Andy Small for his excellent work in running that Page.
