City Council Say "No" to Hallam

Preston City Council's Planning Committee today refused the latest application from Hallam Land Management for development on the land north of The Hills. Comments were made by various members of the Committee, regarding the importance of the Area of Separation - which Grimsargh residents see as one of the key issues at stake with this proposal.

Our local Councillor, Neil Cartwright spoke in support of the Planning Officer's recommendation for refusal. He noted that there were 252 objections from residents - significantly more than for the original application, refused last year and dismissed on appeal earlier this year. He reported that this was an indication of the fact that people were angry with the ongoing attempts by the developer to thwart local planning policy and the wishes of those who live here.
