Grimsargh Heritage walks

Sunday 24th June 1pm and 3.30pm

Grimsargh Vicarage   Red Scar Mansion

There are two walks – both starting from the Village Green Car Park:

1pm:   A two and a half-mile guided walk around Grimsargh, highlighting the historic and environmental features of the Village. This walk will be guided by local historian and naturalist David Hindle. It is not difficult walking but one field and several stiles are involved.

3.30pm:   A group walk of about 5 miles: past the reservoirs, down Elston Lane, and along the Ribble Way to the Red Scar Manor site joining the Guild Wheel before returning to the Village via the old railway track. This is a ‘country’ walk, it involves stiles, some steep steps through the woodland and walking across fields – walking boots or wellingtons are needed.   Allow 2½ to 3 hours for this walk.

Information for both walks from Pat Tucker on 01772 704874 or patricia.tckr@yahoo.co.uk .
