Grimsargh Celebrates Preston Guild 2012 Week

Grimsargh Guild Logo

This was a fantastic project, initiated by the Parish Council, organised by a wide-ranging group and participated in by a large proportion of the Village.

It was all part of the Preston Guild 2012 celebrations with a programme of events in and around Grimsargh, timed earlier in the year to enable people to also fully participate in the City Centre events in September.

There was a marvelous programme of eventswith activities to suit all ages and tastes.

Local children were engaged in designing the fabulous Grimsargh Celebrates Preston Guild Logo.

Colour printed programmes of Grimsargh events were be being delivered to every household in Grimsargh - you can view a copy here.

Acknowledgements

A lot of hard work went into the organisation of the events given in this programme. Each one has had a chief point of contact, who has been part of the Working Group which has been meeting and collaborating for many months now. Our sincere thanks go to these people: Nicky Baylis, Lesley Brooks, Peter Burton, Joyce Chessell, Jean Gornall, Mary Harty, David Hindle, Liz Hindley, Marie Hutson, George Mackin, Siân Middlebrough, Eileen Murray, Pat Tucker and Jayne Woollam.

There are many others who have been “on the sidelines” or will be involved as the events take place – and our gratitude goes out to those people too.

Guild Logo 1

Congratulations to Amelia Small who won the competition to design our special "Grimsargh Celebrates Preston Guild" logo, which is given at the top of this page and adorns the front of the printed programme. It is a beautiful piece of artwork and we are very grateful to her for her talents!

Additional thanks are given to Pat Tucker who, despite stepping down from the Parish Council last year, continued in the role of coordinator and has done a fantastic job of pulling everything together.
